Cookies and browser storage

1. In short
TranscribeLab stores only what the site needs to work. We use no advertising cookies, no tracking and no outside analytics.
The law lets a website store what is strictly necessary for a service you asked for without asking for your consent (EU ePrivacy Directive, Article 5(3)). That is why our notice has only an OK button: there is nothing to accept or refuse. If we ever want to use anything that is not necessary, we will ask you first, and saying no will be as easy as saying yes.
2. What we store on your device
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
tl_session | Cookie (ours) | Keeps you signed in on the website. It is set only when you sign in, and page scripts cannot read it. | 30 days after your last visit. Deleted when you sign out or delete your account. |
tl_oauth | Cookie (ours) | Only while you sign in with Google or Apple: it ties the sign-in to this browser, so nobody else can finish it. | 15 minutes. Deleted when the sign-in ends. |
tl-lang | Browser storage (local storage) | Remembers the language you chose in the language menu. | Until you choose another language or clear your browser's data for this site. |
tl-cookies-ok | Browser storage (local storage) | Remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it does not come back on every page. | Until you clear your browser's data for this site. |
tl-ref | Browser storage (session storage) | Only if you arrived through a partner's link: remembers the partner's code, so the partner is credited if you create an account during this visit. | Until you close the tab. |
tl-flash | Browser storage (session storage) | Carries a short message to the next page, for example "The transcript is deleted". | Deleted as soon as it is shown, and when you close the tab. |
3. Other companies
Some parts of our pages come from other companies. They set no cookies through our pages, but your browser connects to them, so they see your IP address:
- Google Fonts: the letters of our pages.
- Unsplash: some pictures on our home page.
Payment (Stripe and Link) and sign-in with Google or Apple happen on those companies' own pages. Any cookies they set there are theirs and follow their own policies.
The Chrome add-on keeps its settings and your sign-in in Chrome's own storage for add-ons, not in cookies. The privacy policy explains what it holds.
4. How to remove them
- Sign out to delete the sign-in cookie.
- In your browser's settings, delete the cookies and site data for transcribelab.pro. You will be signed out and the site will forget your language.
- If you block our cookies, you cannot sign in, but the public pages still work.
5. Who is responsible
MB Makery runs this website. Its full details are at the bottom of every page and in our privacy policy.
