Join the call as usual
Open the Google Meet link in Chrome. There is nothing else to install besides the add-on.

Switch on your microphone so your own voice is in the text too, and paste the ready notice into the chat so everyone knows.

- Any Google Meet call you can join in Chrome can be recorded from its tab. No Google Workspace add-on or admin setting is needed.
- Tell everyone in the call that you are recording. Before your first recording TranscribeLab explains the rules and gives you a ready message for the chat.
- The text is written after the call: it is ready a minute or two after you press Stop, not while people are talking.
- A free recording can be up to 30 minutes long. On Pro one recording can be up to 3 hours.
- The sound is deleted once the text is ready. The text stays in your account until you delete it.

Does a bot join my Google Meet call?
No. You record your own browser tab, so the people in the call see nobody new.
Do I need a Google Workspace plan?
No. TranscribeLab records the meeting tab in your browser, so it works with any Google Meet call you can join.
How fast is the text ready?
Videos with captions are ready in seconds. Calls and files are usually ready a minute or two after you stop, a little longer for very long recordings.
Can my own voice be in the text too?
Yes. Switch on your microphone in the add-on and your voice is recorded together with the call.

Which languages does it understand?
11 languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi and Arabic. The language is detected for you, and the summary can be written in any of them.
